Rating comparison between Magnus Carlsen and Anish Giri

Grandmaster Anish Giri (born June 28, 1994) is another promising young player, who many consider to be a future challenger of Magnus Carlsen. In May 2010 Giri won the 18th annual Sigeman & Co Tournament with a performance rating of 2936! Giri speaks Russian, English, Dutch, Japanese, a little bit of Nepalese and in school he is studying German as well. This is a rating comparison of these two players. You can see that, when both players were younger, Carlsen had a much higher elo than Giri. At the age of sixteen Carlsen only had a slight elo advantage. If this trend continues, Giri will soon be up to par with Carlsen on the elo list if you take the age into consideration. Who knows, maybe there will be a World Championship Match between both of them in 2020.
